All Topics / Help Needed! / bed bugs – carpet bettles
One of our IP’s has bed bugs or carpet bugs.
It seems the pests are isolated to the two rooms with carpet.
Has any body dealt with this proeblem?
As the IP is fully furnsihed I may need to replace all bedding, etc.
I’ve tried bug bombs but the bugs came back.

Hi Terry,
Yikes! Sounds… itchy.
Perhaps a call to the local pest person would be wise. Perhaps s/he can give you some 'professional' bug advice.
Also, are you sure you bombed correctly?

Hi Steve’
Comments from the pest guy provided a bad prognosis.
A full spray of the affected areas is required, removal of carpets and new bedding etc, and then maybe a second spray if they come back.
Yep, I bombed the rooms correctly, it seems the bug bombs establish a layer over the top of the carpet but do not penentrate below the carpet.
IMPORTANT NOTE: My landlords INSURANCE does not cover for wilful damage caused by pests.
Spraying begins tomorrow wish me well.
Terry
just a quick question, how do you get 'wilful damage caused by pests'? its not like the pests delibratly WANT to cause damage… on the other hand, how can pests cause unwilful damage?
