I’m just curious as to whether the compulary 9% superannuation paid by employers is on your gross income or your income after salary sacrificing.

    EG. Gross 50k x 9% = $4500
    or after salary sacrificing of 20k, 30k x 9% = $2700

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
Some companies only pay super on a standard 38 / 40 hour week, while others pay super on all hours worked / total gross earnings. It should be outlined in your terms of employment.

    I agree with David.

Gross before salary sarifice amount should be amount to determine the 9% SGC. Otherwise you’re shortchanged. Check contract signed if you have one.
