    I’m interested in finding areas in Australia which are suffering from poor reputations. The sort of areas that locals (one or two suburbs away) say they would never live. The sorts of suburbs you wouldn’t want your work colleagues to know you live in. Any suburb that you’d be ashamed to live. [grad]

    Wow that’s a hard one to answer without gross genralisations or offending half the state!
    But here goes (for Melb/Metro) try these for size;
    Sunshine, St.Albans, Maidstone, Braybrook, Altona Nth, Laverton, Footscray, Ardeer, Diggers Rest, Riddels Creek, Broadmeadows, Franskton…..???
