Can Australians invest in US tax lien certificates and redeem a property through foreclosure? I am aware that most are purchased after a county releases auction venue and times then the usual practice (which varies very widely state to state) is predominantly to start the bid for the certificate at the current debt level/liens on the property and then the bidding is on the interest rate level, with the winning bidder achieving the lowest interest rate-(ie. Florida Tax Liens certs. offer a statutory 18% interest rate and bids decrease the rate by increments of .25%).
