Saw a story on one of the current affairs shows last night warning to be wary of George Mihos. People who had done his course appeared very disappointed. I once attended an introductory seminar with him, but never followed up to do his course. Therefore, I don’t have an opinion about him.

However, there is one point I wish to make to anyone starting out in the business of investment who may be reading this. It was highlighted yet again in this story re expensive seminars. Never ever believe clowns who say investment knowledge must be expensive to acquire, for it to be of any value. This is absolute tripe and milks the emotions of novice investors.

You can go to most libraries and find lots of information in good books for FREE. Then you’ve got your booksellers who have many investment books also. If you are a novice investor, don’t pay over the top prices in the name of education. You need an investment education, but you can get it without breaking the bank.

Couldn’t agree more. Books provide all you will need to know. Seminars may give extra emotional support and sometimes friendships can build from there, but the raw facts are all in the books.
