We have been approached by a company called the McCarthy Group offering boutique investment property solutions to financial security.

We have had a couple of bad experiences with similar type companies in the past, so we would like to ask for a reference/recommendation for the McCarthy Group. The McCarthy Group appears to concentrate on property developments in Townsville, Cairns and Darwin.

We are a family looking at improving our financial position so we can provide a better education for our children and secure a better retirement – we are considering buying a second investment property using negative gearing to help us in this regard. In order to minimise our risk, we are considering using a specialist company.

Any advice you can offer would be appreciated.

Why not just buy on your own? This is probably a less risky way.

Or, use an independent buyers agent.
