    Hi All,

I have just been watching scenes from the devastation that is far North Queensland. I have been shocked and horrified at the damage, but also glad that there were no fatalities or serious injuries.

With predictions of no Electricity for weeks, no sewerage, no fresh water and no food, and another cyclone just off the coast. There is a real need of for outside help.

A relief fund has been setup by the Commonwealth Bank and I invite you all to dig deep and help some struggling Aussies in there time of desperate need.

Donations can be made at any Commonwealth Bank branch. Cheques can be made out to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal fund, account number 064-013-1000-6800.

An appeal hotline (1800 150 411) will be opened to accept donations by credit card.

And remember all donations are Tax deductible

Has anyone heard how far down the coast the devastation from the cyclone is? Is there flooding or blocks on any roads south of Innisfail? My parents went to FinchHaten near Mackay over the weekend & I haven’t been able to contact them. That is very unusual for them. Mother’s phone is turned off, they haven’t notified us of staying longer…we are looking after there animals. Also 2 friends that went with them have not been answering their phones either.

Great post Damian. This is a cause that everyone should consider supporting. We (Australia as a nation) have shown how generous we are with the support we have given our neighbours when they have been in trouble, we should, at very least, show the same support for our fellow Australians.

    Regards
    Alistair
