All Topics / Heads Up! / Jakobi or Spann ?
Hello. Does anyone have any experience with the strategies of either of these guru’s or offer advice on the following:
I am looking at investing in one or other of there courses ( Super Secrets to Property Investment ($3500) or Money Magic ($1500) respectively). At the moment I am angling towards the Jakobi product as I am unsure if the strategy Peter Spann teaches is for me. Having read an article on Spann and his strategy (http://www.freemanfox.com.au/
article2.htm), I am a little unsure of my ability to travel and
commit to renovating properties and using stocks for cash flow.
It just seems a little too involved for someone in full time
employment.Jakobi’s home study package runs in at almost $3500 (https://www.realestatesecrets.com.au/
secure_online_registration_form.php). His strategy is one of
buying small units/flats etc, renting and making an income from
positive cash flow with capital gain more of a long term thing. What I am after is an honest opinion of whether Spann?s
teachings are similar to Jakobi?s. Does he teach theory or give
step by step guidance on how to actually do it in practice and
how much of a part does renovation and using stocks to
generate cash flow play in his overall plan. Both courses offer some BASIC investing principles. You could learn something from both depending on what stage you are at.
No course gives you step by step guides on how to invest or buy properties, the nature of investing makes this impossible!
It’s like giving a step by step guide on how to swim!By all means start out by doing courses if you have no or little fundumental background, but the best teacher is experience!
sorry, couldnt tell you if one is better than the other, depends on what your niche is! But both are very basic!

I can give an opinion on either as i have no exp with them.
I have been on the property path for a couple of years now since my marriage broke up and have read numerous books incl both of Steve’s and found his most practical but that is where I am up to. I have also attended his Property Masterclass twice and the Property Power Profits W’shop. I enrolled in the Mentor program towards the end of last year.
I ahve also owned 2 PPOR, one I designed and built and had one IP.
The divorce settlement took longer than I expected and now I am cashed up ready to buy.
What I believe has been useful to me, particularly since joining the mentor program is working out what I want ( goals), and a “Why” then developing strategies ( based on either Growth – not specifically cap gain and also income). Initially I felt more inclined towards the positive cash flow but now I know my circle of knowledge, if you like, is in sub-div and or developing.
My ultimate aim is to earn enough initially to pay my own way and not need my Canb PS job. There are some spiritual ( not necessairly religious) reasons in my “WHY” around all this
All this is a journey as much personal growth as it is wealth creation.
So can I suggest spending the time on working out what it is you are trying to achieve and more importantly WHY, then work on whether this can be achieved either with property as an experience or the learnings initially, then work out how best to get there. If you measure your progress along the way,it will be easier to see where you are going , how far you have come etc..particularly if the wheels fall off ocassionally. Also if you have a good understanding of your WHY this will also keep you on track when things get tough, time constraints etc.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Email MeHi Pstoe,
I’ll throw another course at you. It is similar to Peter Spann’s and costs considerably less.
Have a look at Steve Navra http://www.navra.com.au/ – which, in essence, is similar to Peter’s philosophy and that is buy quality property and use equity to leverage into shares (Steve does have a fund that operates very differently to many in the market and with nil entry and exit fees and no management fees unless his fund outperforms the ASX)
Steve’s course is one day long and similar to the appraoch I am using at the moment and have been doing so for a while.
BTW – I do need to declare I have a small parcel of Navra shares.
