I’ve just returned home from living / working on a ship and feel it’s time to buy a “stationary” home for myself in Australia – one that doesn’t give me seasickness [puke]. I also plan to use this first home to start my property investment portfolio (once I’ve satisfied the requirements of the First Homeowners grant by living in the property for the required length of time). I’m not at all interested in buying the home of my dreams just yet, just something that will help me towards my goal of investing in property.
Does anyone have any tips for me on how best to get started. I’ve been looking at both renos and units/townhouses in South East Queensland. Ideally I’d love to be able to buy 2 properties at the same time and I have a borrowing limit of about $200K. I wonder if there are perhaps any bird dogs who are familiar with the Brisbane area who might like to offer their services…..
