At the momement my partner and I live in Auckland, we have just sold our home and will be living with friends for a few months. We will be looking to relocate to the Brisbane area early next year. Does anybody know if we will have any problems getting a home loan in Aussi so we can buy in Brisbane while we still live in Auckland. That way we can move directly into our own home and not have to rent.
We will be putting in a 50% deposit.

Hi Ruby,
In a word no, you should have no problems getting finance with a 50% deposit. The majors will look at your income from New Zealand as long as the loan amount doesn’t exceed 80%.
