    Hello,

    I’m new at property investing, and am having trouble working out all the different zones. Does anyone know if there is a list or resource that will tell me all the different classifications of allotments and areas e.g. what does LMR mean? I have contacted city council, and they only have resources that are difficult to access.

    Hi Jo,

    Which State are you in. I have a strong knowledge of the planning system in Victoria and am happy to post answers to your queries, but different States have different systems.

    In general zones indicate the type of developments that will be allowed on the block eg if the zone is Residential developmenmts such as factories or shops are prohibited. However, you need to go deeper and look at overlays and the local planning scheme to work out what restrictions there are in terms of residential development.

    Hi there and welcome to the forum.

    From you Post it sounds like you are in Qld and possibly even Brisbane.

    I am extremely experienced in the Brissie market so would be happy to help you.

    LMR – Low Medium Residential in Brisbane this incorporates the old RB# & RB4 Unit and Townhouse zoning.

    I do live in Brisbane, 007 you are very perceptive…

    Hi guys,

    I’m also new to the chat and we’re also looking in brissie. I got a report and I’d like to know what and LMR2 actually means for somebody like myself who’s interested to invest in the Brisbane market specifically we were looking at Moorooka as a suburb but we’re still looking at the top 5 Suburbs that my BA is recommending.
