What would you do with 5 acres of land and small 3 bedroom cottage on it and not subdivable for maybe 5 to 15 years, located approx 1hr from Sydney CBD (that’s normal in Sydney) to make it CF+?Let’s here your creative thoughts.

honestly i wouldnt do anything with it, but instead i would just land bank on it, and sit on it for those 5-15 years..

I’d spruce it up a bit and offer it as a weekend retreat. Just get some gourmet food delivered for saturday breaky and you’ve got a wonderful romantic cottage for two.Or
Set it up as a training room for any sort of training. That is, put in plenty of power points, maybe knock down a wall to make a large conference/presentation room and put up a covered area outside with a BBQ.
To my knowledge those sorts of uses attract good rent and a 5 acre block that close to the CBD would be great.
I’ve got something like that myself. I would just hang on to it, renting it out. Acerages are getting harder and harder to find, pushing values up faster than average.

Leigh KWe bought one of these 5-10 yr ones 11 years ago and if you talk to ppl they still tell you it is at least 5-10 yrs.
If the numbers stack up its great, ( ie its been a great home for family, dogs, possums, snakes, kookaburas, owls, bats, black cockatoos and the odd echidna…..and I can be on the harbour bridge in 45 mins on a sunday morning after 9.00am ) BUT I’m glad I did’nt stretch myself financially over the “it will be 5-10 yrs ” we were told when we bought.

Thanks for the offer but it was just for people to discuss ways of making money on this type of property, there is so much of it in the area I live and I thought people might like to discuss what people could do with it if they bought some. Otherthan just land banking, which returns nothing until it is sold.
BTW, you should remove your number from the previous post. There are crack pots out there.
