Furniture Deprication

Hi,
I have just purchased a furnished apartment.
My question relates to the deprication on the furniture – where are we able to start – do we require a qualified valuer? – are we able to estimate the value of the various items ourselves? – given the items are not new and may have been claimed by the previous owner of the apartment are we required to pick up the value as previously claimed?
