Hi to all. Am I the only one who has had bank cheques and documents lost/missplased by lending institutions, not to mention repetitive phone conversations while the finance approval date is drawing dangerously close? At one stage I’ve had to reproduce documents 3 times, have several valuations on the same property and hear the same story over again from the very same bank for the very same property and to have my VLOC reduced for the effort. Is it a different wourld for a bank?

    WhichBank, WestBranch, or NationalFashionable???

To answer your Question: No, But…(apologies for being slightly off track)
I had a loan come to the end of its term recently(3yrs fixed) and my broker rang the bank to ask if the loan could be ‘rolled over’. Back came a NO reply.

Next day, bank rings me up, says – would you like to continue your loan?, we can do that for you.
    [saywhat]

Now me thinks, so the bank doesn’t want to pay the commission to my broker. [blush2] Broker want be too happy about that I shouldn’t think [angry2]

Is this common practice brokers? Maybe more common than you think.[angry2]

Yes Banks try to steal our customers all the time. especially NAB I hear.

JPD, You have to remember that large banks are bureacratic messes. There are many staff there just going through the motions, not caring etc. There are so many departments and sections that things go missing, and nobody wants to take any responsibility.
