    Hi

I have been investing in NZ this year but am getting frustrated by the 20% equity requirements with the banks. Obviously this is a double edged sword in terms of the protection it offers (esp. with rates likely to near 9% in 2005).. but I have pretty solid cashflow and I would be keener to secure finance at approx. 10% – anyone have any ideas – obviously I don’t want to go to extremes in terms of level of interest.

    Thanks in advance

Are you saying you want to pay more interest so you can borrow higher percentages?

I have access to 12.20% for low doc at 90% and 11.20% for credit impaired at 90% in NZ. Unfortunately, I do not do standard borrowings in NZ as yet.

Thanks for the speedy response, although I was thinking that 10% down would equal about 8-8.5% pa in interest. I’ll keep looking.

I just hope you noticed that the rates quoted were for low doc and credit impaired at 90% LVR!!! They are good rates and set up in NZ – not here! Not sure what the best would be.

Property “Guru” (what is your name as I don’t feel comfortable calling anyone a “guru”),

Are those loans you state at 6.85% Low Docs, 95% LVR and pre-approved in 48 hours sourced in Australia?

The cash rate in NZ is 6.5% so I hope they are.
