    Hi Everyone,
First of all Merry Christmas to All!!!
My step sister has a unit she wants to sell in Melbourne CBD. She’s an overseas investor. She wants me to sell her property on her behalf. Leaving overseas its hard for her to come down and sell it. Do you need license to sell in Melbourne? {Im from Sydney}.
other question is can overseas investor buy her property or overseas investor have to buy new developed property?
    Hope you guys can help?

    Regards,

    Rickster

From memory, in Melbourne you are able to sell the property so long as you don’t charge a commission or do not profit from the process/service.

Investors from overseas need FIRB approval. Go to http://www.firb.gov.au/content/default.asp

Rick, I should remember, as I am studying for my real estate agent’s licence, but can’t remember the exact details. Sorry – if I can find out, I’ll add it on to this post.
