    HI Antoinette,

Stamp Duty is a state levied tax and as such you may get a better response if you identify the state you are lookign to invest in.

WA certainly isn’t – stamp duty on property forms too large a part of the govt income. I suspect the same will be said for other states.

Sounds like an urban myth, Antoinette. The state govt in NSW would be paralised without the income from stamp duty. Of course, there is some relief for first home buyers.

I agree with depreciator, especially in NSW. If these clowns could survive without stamp duty, why would they need to throw in an additional vendor tax. If I had my way noone could even enter politics unless they had successfully run a profitable business.

    You got my vote Yorker!

    It should be a pre-requisite!

    Cheers
