    Hi,
I have just made my fist purchase of property in rural WA. A duplex block where I am planning to build two homes for rental. I am aware that the FHOG has just been increased in WA, to include a stamp duty relief. This can be up to $15,000 and I would like to take advantage of it. I live in Perth, so it is obvious I am not going to live in the homes.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and made advantage of this grant? Can you leave it vacant for 6 months and then start renting it out?
I would really appreciate anyone’s input on this topic.

You need to live in the property for 6 months starting within the first 12 months.

    Simple as that.

Is there any way you can occupy it?

    Hope it works out,
