I am planning to invest in a luxury flat in Townsville for present investment and later retirement. I would appreciate any clues as to the market in North Queensland and/or insights into things occurring in Townsville in particular. Thank you – this is my first post ‘be gentle!’
I don’t know much about Nth Qld myself but the area has been mentioned here a number of times. Try doing a search of this site for Townsville if that is the particular area that you are looking at. Local council up there may also have some interesting info on their site. The local paper is probably also online and will be worth a look.

I have been looking at townsville for a while now too (i lie this is the first week ive been looking at real estate and i live near townsville [tongue]). From looking around at real estate listings in the paper and brochures it seems that the market is highly overpriced (using the 11 second solution) but from what i have read on this forum it seems that all over the country is pretty much the same.
