Im fairly new to the property game and have recently purchased an investment property in Perth , I have contacted an agent to rent the property for me and they have quoted me 9.35% inc GST to manage the property and 9.35% of the annualised rent to find a tennant. This seems very high to me .

It is usually around 7 – 8% plus GST and 2 weeks rent for a 12 month tenant (1 week for 6 month). That is what I have encountered in NSW and QLD.

Does sound a bit excessive – I’d also contact at least 2 – 3 others by way of comparison. Standard ’round here (Sydney Metro) is 1 weeks rent to find a tenant, 7% + GST man. fee for 1 property, 5-6% 2 + properties.
PS choose your property manager with care..

dc – this is very excessive. I just recently had 8% from my estate agent and this was lowered to 7% across the board when I bought my 2nd IP in Perth.
Shop around – 9.35% means you are getting robbed!!!

Can only consence with the other sentiments. I am curently paying 7% in Melbourne and 7.5% in Qld. Letting fee is 1.5 weeks
