    Hi all,

It is possible to open bank accounts o/s without being there? If so, how or which banks do it that you know of?

    cheers,

Its not too hard to open an offshore account if that is what you are getting at. By offshore I mean you live in Australia but want an overseas account.

    Try this http://www.standardchartered.com/je/banking/banking_apply.html

Its just one bank of many that offer these services and no, you do not have to go there but they will want to know exactly who you are.

Blucat, yes you can. ANZ Vanuatu is a good one to start with and as a bonus you can monitor it from the Internet. They are not linked directly here to the ANZ but you can reach them through the ANZ website and click on Vanuatu – ie you cannot set it up through ANZ Aust. Send an email for a pack. Then you will need to have the forms notorised (a Notorary -like the next level from JP).
It can be done quite easily so send them an email.
There is also the National Bank of Vanuatu – not sure of their website and they also have no connection to the NAB
    Hope that helps
