    Hi guys,

A family friend recently returned back to sydney from his trip to tasmania.. to say he was enthusiastic about investing in the tassie market would be an understatment. He couldn’t stop talking about how cheap the market is there. He alreasy has 5 IP’s there and is flying there again next week to buy some more.

I am a little hesitant about the small population growth in tassie, small number of industries there, ageing population..etc..etc..

Am i mistaken to have these doubts about tassie? Or is Tasmania really the holy grail of property investing ??

    Any comments would be appreciated…

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    G’day Chris

Tassie’s been running hot for a while now.. as always, do your due diligence…

Your research will give you your own SANF (Sleep At Night Factor)…

I wouldn’t call it the Holy Grail of property investing… it was discovered a fair while ago

    Cheers

I agree with Richmond. I have one place down there but the numbers were a lot better (rent vs purchase price) 12-24 months ago.

I’m sure there are some great deals around, but don’t suddenly go looking there on the belief that it’s relatively undiscovered.

We have a few IP’s in Tas and after talking to agents last week, prices seem to be cooling/easing backwards a touch.
