I’ve just bought a house in Port, over 400K. I bought it there because it is too expensive in Sydney plus I have a relative who can look after it for me. [:)]
Anyone with property in that idea can share some info[;)]
by the way, I am only new, this is my very first first message.[:X]

    Hi

Thank you so much for your reply. [:D]

I just wonder if you ever have any trouble to rent it, my house is in transit hill, it’s supposed to be good area, isn’t it?

What about Lake Cathie, I was going to buy a house with some ocean view, i didn’t end up getting it with the worry of vacancy.

was it the one on Ocean Drive, looked at that one myself, its rented now. Rentals usually go pretty fast in summer, less so in winter. Saying that I bought in late 99, first tenant moved in in jan 2000, have had 7 days vacant with 3 tenants in that time, pretty good. However, my sister has just bought 3 places and she was asking too high a rent for older places (coming from a syd market she had to adjust her expectations down a little) they are all now occupied so she is happy. Transit Hill is a nice spot, my house is in the Major Innes estate. By the way it was perfect at Cathis on the weekend, fishing walking on the beach etc etc, wish I could retire there now!![:)] HG
