I read with interest that some people on this forum have “some -ve and some +ve IP’s. I don’t really understand, how that can be (I’m very new to this site but learning all the time) Doesn’t the -ve cancel out the +ve? I realise that each property can be either – or + but surely your overall position must be either one or the other. I have my PPOR and I’ve just signed on a IP near Brisbane that will be negativly geared. After reading this forum non stop for the last week I’d like to change my IP’s position from – to + I could possibly do this by increasing the rent slightly, but my overall position would still be Neg as far as the ATO are concerned.(I run a farm as a loss to minimise my Tax as my “day job is in the top tax bracket)
