Hi, I’ve just been to an investment exhibition in the UK, given by Ocean Estates International and have placed a ‘reservation’ on an ‘off plan’plot, due to be built by June 2005 on the Costa del sol, where they tell me capital growth is at around 25 – 40%. The idea is to sell before ‘completion’ to avoid capital gains tax, and then re-invest the profits in two plots etc etc. Questions!
1.Can you generally negotoiate on purchase price when buying off plan? How can I be sure the price the developers are selling at is fair and how can I get an independent view regarding prospective Capital Growth in the area?- Are there any sites I could source this information from?
    2. Does anyone know of any similar sites to this in the UK and Internationally – I’m primarily looking to invest (off plan) in areas of Europe where there is healthy capital growth.
I would be very grateful for any help regarding the above.
If all this sounds nieve, please let me know – I won’t be offended.
    Domingo

Try escapeartist.com– believe it or not, this is an international real estate site, and (aside from making you drool at the world real estate offerings) it may provide you with some comparisons for the area you are looking at.
Be prepared for a long slog, as research on this site is a bit all over the place – interesting nonetheless.
    Hope this helps?

This is a UK site and it’s well run by Ollie with a lot of active users.
